Meet the Balloon Artist

My name is Mandana Moshrefzadeh and I’ve been a balloon artist for over 18 years. I’ve lived in Minnesota for the last 30 years with my three sons, along with a dog, a cat, and a bunny!

In 2006 I was a contestant on the hit TV show Wheel of Fortune, where I solved six out of eight puzzles, including the bonus round! I have a degree in Early Childhood Education and hold a Minnesota elementary teaching license, and I love working with children of all ages.

I accidentally got into balloon twisting about 18 years ago, when one of my sons was having a birthday party and a guest bought him an introductory balloon-making kit as a gift. Several weeks later I was cleaning out his closet when I found the balloon kit buried under clothes and toys, still unopened! Curiosity got the better of me, and I opened up the kit and started making the balloon sculptures in the little booklet. To my surprise, I really enjoyed the creative process of balloon twisting and the joy it brought to others, and decided to pursue it further.

Fast-forward 18 years and now I’m a Certified Balloon Artist (CBA) with extensive training in professional balloon artistry, a member of the Qualatex Balloon Network (QBN), a participant at many international balloon conventions, and a winner of multiple international awards for balloon twisting. What started as a simple hobby has turned into my life’s passion!
